Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Economics aligned with the school’s academic standards and curriculum.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that promotes student well-being and academic achievement.
- Support the continuous development of students’ critical thinking, analytical skills, and economic understanding.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the school’s overall educational mission.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities that enhance student learning and engagement.
- Stay updated with current educational trends, pedagogical research, and curriculum developments.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in any field.
- Recognised secondary education teacher qualification in Economics (e.g., QTS, or equivalent in Hong Kong, UK, or mainland China).
- Minimum of two years of experience in teaching Economics at the secondary level.
- Strong understanding of the Secondary Economics Curriculum issued by the CDCHK or the National Curriculum of England.
- Excellent command of English for teaching and communication purposes.
- Valid background checks, including an International Child Protection Certificate or equivalent, confirming suitability to work with children.
Preferred
- Experience with the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) or International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
- Familiarity with STEAM-based teaching approaches and innovation in education.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
- Experience in fostering student leadership, creativity, and critical thinking.
