The Opportunity:

The Graduate Musician-in-Residence will join a vibrant and highly musical school environment, supporting a wide range of curricular and co-curricular activities. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop a career in music education, performance, or arts administration within a leading independent school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and lead ensemble coaching, rehearsals, and performances
  • Assist with music administration and technical support for events
  • Provide piano accompaniment for rehearsals and performances
  • Offer composition and arranging support to students and staff
  • Contribute to the development of music-related curricular and co-curricular programmes
  • Assist with teaching, mentoring, and pastoral duties within a boarding house
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Music and other staff members
  • Participate in the school’s performance programme and cultural events

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good degree in Music or equivalent qualification
  • Strong performance and ensemble skills
  • Excellent piano accompaniment abilities
  • Demonstrated experience in music composition or arranging
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Willingness to take on evening duties and pastoral responsibilities

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or education
  • Experience with music administration or event coordination
  • Familiarity with music technology and software
  • Ability to mentor and inspire young musicians
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting
