The Opportunity:

As Director of Studies, you will lead and shape a high-quality academic programme for international students, ensuring excellence in teaching and learning. This is a leadership role that demands initiative, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support the teaching team to deliver an engaging and successful academic programme.
  • Allocate students to classes based on initial placement testing and monitor their progress throughout the programme.
  • Work closely with the Head of Summer School and Activities Coordinator to enhance language learning opportunities across the timetable.
  • Ensure the highest standards of academic and pastoral care are maintained.
  • Provide visible leadership, solve problems quickly, and take initiative in all aspects of the programme.
  • Support staff development and foster a positive, collaborative working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all academic and operational policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the academic programme to ensure continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a summer school or working with international students.
  • TEFL-Q qualification, such as DELTA or DipTESOL.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to upholding high academic and pastoral standards.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or academic programme design.
  • Knowledge of international education standards and practices.
  • Experience in a values-driven or faith-based educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
