The Opportunity:

As a Graduate Sports Assistant, you will support the delivery of a vibrant Sports Programme, with a focus on Netball, Rugby, Cricket, Football and Racket Sports. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an independent preparatory school environment, while making a meaningful impact on young people's lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and deliver high-quality sports sessions in at least one of the listed sports, with a willingness to support other sports as required.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of the Sports Programme, ensuring it is inclusive, engaging, and developmental for all pupils.
  • Support the extra-curricular activities programme, including clubs, fixtures, and school events.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, potentially assisting in an academic department or other areas of school life.
  • Act as a positive role model, promoting the values of teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recent university graduate with a passion for sport and education.
  • Experience coaching or playing at least one of the listed sports to a good standard.
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to working with children aged 6 months to 11 years.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school.
  • Reliable, professional and able to build positive relationships with children.
  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS check.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of child development and learning principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: £21,350 per annum, based on a 40-hour week, term time only
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
