The Opportunity:
As Assistant Head of Rowing, you will play a pivotal role in coaching, leading, and developing rowers of all abilities. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a successful and growing rowing programme within a supportive and high-achieving school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Head of Rowing and coaches to support the overall rowing programme
- Coach and develop athletes across all squads in rowing and sculling
- Lead and grow the programme, driving success at national and international events
- Plan and deliver training, fixtures, and regattas effectively
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Boat Club, including events and logistics
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including participation in weekends and school holidays
- Support the development of a positive team culture and inspire pupils of all abilities
- Ensure the programme aligns with the school’s vision and values
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Enthusiastic and knowledgeable rowing coach with Level 2 or equivalent qualification
- Experience in coaching and developing athletes across all ability levels
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Commitment to both participation and performance in sport
- Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to the school’s co-curricular life
Preferred
- Additional qualifications such as powerboat or first aid
- Experience with athlete development pathways and performance sport
- Previous experience in a boarding school or similar educational setting
