Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that support student progress and achievement.
- Plan and develop high-quality resources and schemes of work for all Key Stages.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of English, Subject Lead, and other coordinators to enhance departmental performance.
- Support students of all abilities and backgrounds, ensuring they are encouraged and empowered to reach their full potential.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and reflective practice to continuously improve teaching methods.
- Contribute to the school’s vision by promoting literacy and numeracy across the curriculum.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.
- Engage in extracurricular activities and events that promote the school’s values and mission.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching English.
- Experience in delivering lessons across Key Stages, including sixth form if appropriate.
- Commitment to student progress and inclusion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a school setting.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support.
- Ability to work flexibly, including part-time hours (minimum 0.8).
