Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that support student progress and achievement.
  • Plan and develop high-quality resources and schemes of work for all Key Stages.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of English, Subject Lead, and other coordinators to enhance departmental performance.
  • Support students of all abilities and backgrounds, ensuring they are encouraged and empowered to reach their full potential.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and reflective practice to continuously improve teaching methods.
  • Contribute to the school’s vision by promoting literacy and numeracy across the curriculum.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.
  • Engage in extracurricular activities and events that promote the school’s values and mission.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching English.
  • Experience in delivering lessons across Key Stages, including sixth form if appropriate.
  • Commitment to student progress and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including part-time hours (minimum 0.8).
