The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Physical Education Teacher to deliver a dynamic, inclusive curriculum that promotes physical literacy, independence, and lifelong wellbeing. This role is ideal for someone committed to making a meaningful impact on students with special educational needs in a collaborative and supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality PE lessons across all age pathways
  • Embed assessment, progress tracking and intervention in PE and Swimming
  • Deliver accredited sport courses and inclusive enrichment opportunities
  • Effectively deploy and support staff within PE provision
  • Organise extra-curricular clubs, trips and sporting events
  • Manage and maximise use of the therapy pool
  • Build strong relationships with parents, staff and external partners

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or willingness to obtain within 2 years
  • Experience teaching students with SEND, including physical needs
  • Strong knowledge of PE curriculum, assessment and inclusive practice
  • Ability to lead, motivate and support a team
  • Understanding of safeguarding, behaviour and health & safety requirements
  • Effective communication with a range of stakeholders
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

Preferred

  • Experience with inclusive enrichment and extra-curricular activities
  • Leadership experience within a team or department
  • Experience with therapeutic or specialist PE environments
