Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Biology department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all year groups.
  • Develop and implement departmental strategies to enhance student achievement and engagement.
  • Support and mentor Biology teachers, providing professional development and guidance.
  • Promote the subject through extracurricular activities and cross-curricular initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and enriched curriculum.
  • Oversee pastoral and safeguarding responsibilities within the department.
  • Act as a form tutor, contributing to the overall pastoral care of students.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Biology and incorporate innovative teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong academic background in Biology.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school or college.
  • Excellent classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of educators.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in an international school setting.
  • Familiarity with the UK curriculum and assessment systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in co-curricular and pastoral roles.
