Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design and technology curriculum to ensure excellence in student learning and outcomes.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance teaching and learning in design and technology.
- Provide professional development and support to department staff to maintain high standards of teaching.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and achievement in design and technology.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate design and technology across the curriculum.
- Ensure the department meets all statutory and school requirements for safeguarding and compliance.
- Promote a culture of innovation, creativity, and excellence in design and technology.
- Represent the department in school-wide meetings and external events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in design and technology.
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in design and technology.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team.
- Familiarity with the latest trends and technologies in design and technology education.
- Experience in working within an academy trust or multi-academy trust.
- Ability to integrate cross-curricular links and promote STEM learning.
