The Opportunity:

The Head of English will lead the English department, shaping the curriculum and inspiring students to achieve academic success and personal growth. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners in a forward-thinking educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the English department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and challenging curriculum aligned with international standards.
  • Support and mentor teachers to enhance pedagogical practices and student outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the department.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to promote a holistic and inclusive learning environment.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community to build strong partnerships and support student success.
  • Ensure the school’s values of international-mindedness, character development, and academic excellence are embedded in all aspects of teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant education degree or PGCE equivalent.
  • First language English fluency.
  • Experience in a high-quality British curriculum international school.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum for England or Cambridge International IGCSE.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with digital learning tools and resources.
  • Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and engagement.
  • Experience in fostering a culture of global citizenship and character development.
