The Opportunity:

As a University and Careers Counsellor, you will play a key role in guiding students through the university application process and careers education. This position is essential in helping students make informed decisions about their future and ensuring they are well-prepared for the next stage of their education and career.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students in all aspects of the university application process.
• Provide comprehensive careers education and guidance.
• Collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
• Assist students in applying to universities in the UK, USA, and other regions.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills when working with a diverse student body.
• Contribute to the pastoral care and wellbeing of students.
• Engage with the wider school and Nord Anglia Education community.
• Support the development of students’ academic and career aspirations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A university degree in a relevant subject.
• A teaching qualification and considerable teaching experience.
• Experience in supporting students applying to universities in the UK and USA.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to student wellbeing and pastoral care.

Preferred

• Experience in supporting students applying to universities in Asia and Australia.
• Proactive involvement in extra-curricular activities.
• Experience in developing new ways to engage students and parents.
