The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the English department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
- Deliver engaging and innovative English lessons that inspire students and promote academic excellence.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development of the school’s academic strategy and vision.
- Support the pastoral care of students, ensuring their overall wellbeing and success.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community to promote the importance of English education.
- Participate in professional development and training to maintain and enhance teaching standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- British teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
- Minimum of two years’ teaching experience, preferably in a UK independent or international school.
- Strong leadership and management experience within an academic department.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Familiarity with British independent education standards.
- Experience with international or multicultural student environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in mentoring and supporting other teachers.
