The Opportunity:

As the Head of English - US Curriculum, you will lead the English and Literature Department at the High/Secondary School level, ensuring academic excellence and student engagement through innovative teaching and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the English and Literature Department to ensure alignment with US curriculum standards
• Develop and implement curriculum plans that promote student achievement and critical thinking
• Provide professional development and mentorship to faculty members within the department
• Collaborate with school leadership to maintain high academic standards and student outcomes
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth
• Supervise and evaluate teacher performance to ensure consistent quality in instruction
• Stay current with educational trends, technologies, and best practices in English education
• Represent the department in school-wide meetings and initiatives

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, English, Literature, or a related field
• At least 4 years of teaching experience within the US curriculum at secondary school level
• Strong knowledge of American literature and language arts standards
• Proven leadership experience managing teams or departments
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to develop curriculum that meets academic goals and engages students

Preferred

• Experience in school leadership or department management
• Competency in using educational technology tools for instruction and administration
• Background in fostering inclusive and student-centered learning environments
• Familiarity with Islamic values and Western educational practices
