Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Humanities department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
• Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging curriculum aligned with the National Curriculum for England.
• Support and mentor teachers to enhance pedagogical practice and student outcomes.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the school to promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Oversee and contribute to the planning, delivery, and assessment of Humanities courses at GCSE and A level.
• Engage with students, parents, and the wider school community to promote the value of Humanities education.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
• Contribute to the development of extracurricular and community-based initiatives that enrich student learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor of Education or a Bachelor’s degree with PGCE / PGDE in Geography/History.
• Proven experience teaching Humanities to GCSE and A level students.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching practice and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, students, and parents.
• A track record of delivering outstanding learning and teaching outcomes.

Preferred

• Experience in a leadership role within a school or educational institution.
• Familiarity with international curricula and best practices in education.
• A passion for fostering student engagement and a creative approach to teaching and learning.
