The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Humanities to lead and inspire the Humanities department. This role is pivotal in shaping the academic and personal development of students, with a focus on History, Geography, Travel and Tourism, and Global Perspectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead the Humanities department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum aligned with IGCSE and AS level standards.
• Supervise and mentor teachers to maintain and improve academic standards.
• Coordinate with other departments to integrate cross-curricular themes and global perspectives.
• Oversee the delivery of BTEC Travel and Tourism, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
• Monitor student progress and provide targeted support where needed.
• Represent the department in school meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects the school’s values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
• Strong subject knowledge in Humanities, including History, Geography, and Global Perspectives.
• Experience in curriculum development and delivery at IGCSE and AS level.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage and motivate a team of teachers.

Preferred

• Experience with BTEC Travel and Tourism qualifications.
• Familiarity with international curricula and accreditation standards.
• Experience in a multicultural or international school environment.
• Strong understanding of Islamic values and their integration into education.
