Summary:

Head of Junior School needed to lead and manage the Junior department with a focus on academic excellence and school vision.

A school located in Doha, Qatar, with a strong emphasis on Islamic values and global learning. It provides a high-quality education to students from kindergarten through to Year 12, following an adapted version of the English National Curriculum.

The Opportunity:

As the Head of Junior School, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Junior department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning. You will play a key role in supporting the school's academic management and promoting its mission and vision across the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all staff, curriculum content, and assessment in the Junior department.
  • Promote and lead outstanding teaching practices on a day-to-day basis.
  • Work collaboratively with other school leaders to embed the school's mission and vision.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, staff, and students.
  • Balance operational and strategic responsibilities to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Support the academic management of the school and contribute to overall school improvement.
  • Develop and implement effective policies and procedures for the Junior department.
  • Ensure compliance with educational standards and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a Teaching Subject from a recognized university (UK preferred).
  • Teaching License from the UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior experience as Head of Secondary in an international school.
  • NPQH or equivalent certification.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading and managing a Junior department.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
  • Familiarity with Islamic values and global educational frameworks.
