Summary:

Head of Islamic Faculty required for August 2026 at a leading British curriculum school.

The Opportunity:

As the Head of Islamic Faculty, you will lead and inspire the Islamic Faculty and Secondary School, ensuring students grow academically, emotionally, and socially. This role is ideal for a passionate and visionary educator who wants to make a real difference in the lives of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Islamic Faculty and Secondary School with a focus on academic excellence and student development.
  • Develop and implement a vision for Islamic education that aligns with the school’s mission and values.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide a holistic education that supports the academic, emotional, and social growth of students.
  • Oversee the delivery of Islamic studies from early years through to A level, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Promote and support the wider curriculum, including science subjects at KS3 and KS4.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to drive continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of all students within the faculty.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree.
  • QTS or PGCE teaching qualification, preferably from the UK.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience of teaching.
  • Ability to teach Islamic studies through to A level.
  • Willingness to teach science subjects at KS3 and/or KS4.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and pastoral care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior leadership or faculty leadership role.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience in a British curriculum school.
  • Strong understanding of data-driven teaching and learning strategies.
  • Experience in safeguarding and student support.
