Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Islamic Studies department, ensuring alignment with the school’s academic and cultural values.
• Deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons that reflect the school’s mission and cater to a diverse student body.
• Implement innovative teaching strategies, including technology and real-world applications, to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to create interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
• Monitor and assess student progress, using data to refine and improve teaching methods.
• Contribute to the school’s culture by participating in extracurricular activities and events.
• Stay current with educational trends and participate in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant subject area with PGCE/PGDE or QTS (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as Head or Deputy Head of Islamic Studies or Arabic.
• Fluency in Arabic and English; additional languages are a plus.
• Experience in Islamic Studies or related subject is essential.

Preferred

• Experience teaching within the IB framework.
• Strong understanding of current pedagogical practices and technology-enhanced learning.
• Demonstrated ability to foster inclusive and positive classroom environments.
