The Opportunity:
As the Head of Languages, you will lead and inspire a team of educators, shaping the language curriculum and fostering a passion for learning. This role is ideal for a visionary leader who is dedicated to delivering a high-quality, international education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Languages department, ensuring alignment with the school’s academic standards and IB curriculum.
- Develop and implement a dynamic and innovative language program that supports student achievement and global engagement.
- Collaborate with faculty and external partners to enhance language learning opportunities and cultural experiences.
- Provide professional development and mentorship to language teachers, promoting continuous improvement and best practices.
- Monitor student progress and performance, ensuring the delivery of a rigorous and engaging language education.
- Represent the school at events, conferences, and community engagements related to language education.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with the school’s strategic vision.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that supports both student and staff success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting, preferably within an IB or international curriculum.
- Strong background in language teaching and curriculum development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Linguistics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team of educators effectively.
- Experience in a multicultural and international educational environment.
Preferred
- IB teaching experience or certification.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment design.
- Fluency in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, French, and/or German.
- Familiarity with the Global Campus program and international collaboration initiatives.
- Experience in performing arts or interdisciplinary program development.
