The Opportunity:

As the Head of Mathematics and Enterprise, you will lead the development of a dynamic and innovative curriculum that inspires students to excel in both mathematics and enterprise skills. You will play a key role in shaping the academic direction of the school and ensuring a high standard of teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Mathematics and Enterprise department, ensuring alignment with curriculum objectives and school values.
  • Develop and implement high-quality teaching and learning strategies that promote student achievement and engagement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress using data-driven approaches to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Provide professional development and mentorship to teaching staff within the department.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes the welfare and development of all students.
  • Engage with parents and the wider school community to support student learning and school initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with current educational research, policy, and best practices in mathematics and enterprise education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or related subjects.
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in the subject following the UK National Curriculum.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant leadership experience in a UK National Curriculum setting.
  • UK Teaching Qualification (PGCE, QTS).
  • Knowledge of data disaggregation, analysis, and differentiation for students.
  • Recent knowledge and understanding of safeguarding practices.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of achieving outstanding student results.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a multicultural or international school environment.
  • Familiarity with Islamic education or faith-based school settings.
