The Opportunity:

As the Head of Mathematics, you will lead the development of a vibrant and innovative mathematics program that supports student success and fosters international-mindedness. This role is ideal for an experienced educator passionate about inquiry-based learning and committed to delivering outstanding student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the mathematics department, ensuring a cohesive and high-quality curriculum.
  • Develop and implement rich, engaging, and challenging learning experiences aligned with IB standards.
  • Support and mentor teaching staff to enhance pedagogical practices and student achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, using data to inform teaching and learning strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Contribute to the development of school-wide policies and initiatives related to teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelors degree in Mathematics or similar, with a PGCE in Education with QTS or equivalent
  • Minimum of four years’ experience teaching in a reputable school
  • Experience in IB or GCSE subject-specific teaching
  • Proven track record of outstanding student results
  • Advanced-level English language skills
  • Demonstrated professionalism, enthusiasm, commitment, and integrity
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Experience with the IB programme
  • Ability to teach A Level/Further Maths or IBDP AA Higher Level
  • Experience in developing and delivering inquiry-based learning approaches
