Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Performing Arts department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive performing arts curriculum for all key stages.
  • Collaborate with peripatetic music teachers and other colleagues to enhance student engagement and achievement.
  • Support and mentor staff within the department to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Promote extracurricular opportunities in music, drama, and performing arts.
  • Ensure the department aligns with the school’s educational vision and values.
  • Organize and oversee performances, productions, and events that showcase student talent.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to the strategic development of the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a Performing Arts department.
  • Strong background in teaching music, drama, and performing arts at all levels.
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and supporting students with additional needs.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a large or diverse department.
  • Knowledge of pastoral care and student welfare.
  • Experience with extracurricular and co-curricular programs.
  • Familiarity with performing arts in a school setting.
