Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Performing Arts department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive performing arts curriculum for all key stages.
- Collaborate with peripatetic music teachers and other colleagues to enhance student engagement and achievement.
- Support and mentor staff within the department to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Promote extracurricular opportunities in music, drama, and performing arts.
- Ensure the department aligns with the school’s educational vision and values.
- Organize and oversee performances, productions, and events that showcase student talent.
- Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to the strategic development of the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a Performing Arts department.
- Strong background in teaching music, drama, and performing arts at all levels.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to inclusive education and supporting students with additional needs.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a large or diverse department.
- Knowledge of pastoral care and student welfare.
- Experience with extracurricular and co-curricular programs.
- Familiarity with performing arts in a school setting.
