The Opportunity:

As the Head of Performing Arts, you will lead the Performing Arts department and inspire students through a dynamic and innovative curriculum. This role offers the opportunity to shape the artistic and cultural life of the school, while contributing to a globally recognized educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Performing Arts department, including Drama, Music, and Dance.
  • Develop and communicate a clear departmental vision aligned with school priorities and Nord Anglia values.
  • Implement the NAE–Juilliard Creative Classroom / Performing Arts framework and ensure vertical curriculum coherence.
  • Lead departmental planning, review, and evaluation, and contribute to whole-school strategic development.
  • Deliver an ambitious, broad, and differentiated performance curriculum that engages students and supports their academic and personal growth.
  • Support students through pastoral care, including form tutoring and leading extra-curricular activities.
  • Use modern educational technology and Nord Anglia’s Global Campus to enhance learning opportunities.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to the school’s staff development programme.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified to degree level in a relevant subject or above.
  • Qualified teacher status.
  • Proven track record with at least five years’ teaching experience in performing arts disciplines.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering an internationally recognized curriculum, including IGCSE and ALEVEL.
  • Experience of working in partnership with parents and delivering high-quality pastoral support.

Preferred

  • Experience of leading a Performing Arts department.
  • Demonstrable evidence of curriculum innovation and adaptation.
  • Experience in curriculum mapping and progression planning.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, ever-changing international school environment.
