The Opportunity:

As the Head of Psychology, you will lead and mentor a team of Psychology teachers, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on student outcomes and contribute to a vibrant school community in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of Psychology teachers to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share outstanding practice and improve pedagogy.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that enhance student engagement and achievement.
  • Promote a positive school culture through active participation in extra-curricular and community-based events.
  • Work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Ensure alignment with the school's vision and curriculum standards.
  • Provide professional development opportunities for Psychology teachers within the school and wider network.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning in the Psychology department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Hold a BEd or Bachelor's degree in Psychology with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team of teachers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding learning and teaching.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Willingness to contribute to the school's extra-curricular and community-based activities.

Preferred

  • Experience with British Schools Overseas (BSO) accreditation and NQT programme.
  • Background in international education settings.
  • Experience with the National Curriculum for England or UAE Ministry of Education curricula.
  • Familiarity with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar qualifications.
