Head of Safeguarding needed at a leading international school in Singapore.

The Opportunity:

As the Head of Safeguarding, you will lead and shape the school’s safeguarding strategy, ensuring the highest standards of child protection and well-being. This role is central to maintaining a culture of safety, trust, and support for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of safeguarding policies and practices across the school.
  • Ensure compliance with international safeguarding frameworks and local regulations.
  • Foster a proactive safeguarding culture that is embedded in all aspects of school life.
  • Lead and support the safeguarding team in managing complex cases and providing expert consultation.
  • Develop and implement safeguarding strategies that align with the school’s mission and values.
  • Collaborate with leadership and governance bodies to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Manage allegations and risks effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
  • Promote continuous improvement in safeguarding practices through training, development, and evaluation.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior safeguarding or child protection leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing complex safeguarding cases and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and develop safeguarding strategy.
  • Comprehensive understanding of child protection frameworks and risk management.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to interpret safeguarding data.
  • Experience working in a school setting, preferably in an international school.

Preferred

  • Degree qualification in social work, child welfare, or counseling.
  • Advanced training or certification in child protection or safeguarding leadership.
  • Experience working in diverse cultural contexts.
