The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Science to lead the science department and contribute to the continued success of a rapidly growing international school. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the science department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all year groups.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely intervention and support as needed.
• Collaborate with other department heads and school leadership to promote a cohesive educational experience.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Develop and implement science curriculum aligned with international standards.
• Support professional development for science teachers and encourage continuous improvement.
• Engage with parents and the wider school community to promote science education and extracurricular opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A BEd or Bachelor’s degree in Science with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a leadership role within a science department.
• A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with colleagues, students, and parents.
• A proven track record of providing outstanding learning and teaching.

Preferred

• Experience with British Schools Overseas (BSO) accreditation and NQT / QTS programmes.
• Experience in an international school setting with a diverse student body.
• Strong leadership and management experience within an educational institution.
• Familiarity with the National Curriculum for England and UAE Ministry of Education standards.
