The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Drama to lead and inspire a team of drama teachers and students. This role offers the chance to shape a dynamic arts programme and contribute to a school that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of drama teachers to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive drama curriculum aligned with the school’s educational standards.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous professional development within the department.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance student engagement and academic outcomes.
  • Promote the school’s extra-curricular programme through active involvement in drama-related events and activities.
  • Provide outstanding learning and teaching experiences that reflect the school’s vision and values.
  • Encourage reflective practice and professional growth among drama staff.
  • Represent the drama department in school-wide meetings and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Hold a BEd or Bachelor's degree in Drama with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support teaching staff
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven track record of delivering outstanding learning and teaching
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Willingness to contribute to the school’s extra-curricular and community-based events

Preferred

  • Experience working in an international school environment
  • Familiarity with British curriculum standards
  • Experience with the NQT, QTS, or iPGCE programmes
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Passion for drama and the performing arts
