As the Head of Science, you will lead and inspire students through innovative and impactful science education. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Science department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all year groups.
- Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging science curriculum that aligns with the school’s vision and international standards.
- Inspire and motivate students through innovative teaching methods and meaningful learning experiences.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular learning and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring all learners achieve their full potential.
- Represent the school at external events and engage with the wider science community.
- Support and mentor science teachers, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of science equipment and resources in line with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong background in Science, specifically Biology and Chemistry.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a school setting.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
- In-depth knowledge of the English National Curriculum and international qualifications.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a Science department in an international school.
- Familiarity with IGCSE, GCSE, IBDP, and BTEC qualifications.
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Strong understanding of inclusive education and differentiated instruction.
- Experience with professional development and mentoring of teachers.
