Head of Sixth Form required at a leading institution. Lead academic and pastoral care for Sixth Form students.

The Opportunity:
As the Head of Sixth Form, you will be responsible for the academic and pastoral leadership of all Sixth Form students. This is a key role in shaping the future of young people, ensuring they are supported to achieve their full potential both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the Sixth Form Team to deliver excellence in student care and academic outcomes.
- Ensure the highest quality of pastoral and academic support for all Sixth Form students.
- Develop and sustain academic success through targeted interventions and a strong tutorial programme.
- Promote a culture of high expectations and excellence across all aspects of school life.
- Maintain strong communication with parents, teachers, and tutors to support student progress.
- Conduct academic reviews and implement strategies to improve student performance.
- Oversee attendance, punctuality, and discipline across the Sixth Form.
- Manage the UCAS and university admissions process for Year 13 students.
- Organise and lead key events such as Graduation, Leavers’ Assembly, and Parents’ Evenings.
- Support the development of student leadership through the Student Executive and Sixth Form committees.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recognised teaching qualification with strong subject knowledge.
- Experience teaching GCSE and A Level (or equivalent) with a proven track record of outstanding teaching.
- At least three years’ experience of the National Curriculum for England.
- A BEd, or a degree with PGCE/PGDE (or equivalent).
- Proven leadership experience within a Sixth Form setting.
- Excellent communication and people-management skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading and developing a Sixth Form team.
- Strong understanding of student welfare and pastoral care.
- Commitment to extra-curricular activities and student engagement.
