The Opportunity:
The Head of Year 3 will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal development of students in the Junior Department. This position combines the responsibilities of a Form Tutor and Head of Year, offering a unique opportunity to lead and inspire young minds in a dynamic and supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of staff and students in Year 3, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
- Provide pastoral care and support to students, promoting their academic, social, and emotional well-being.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance student engagement and achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to support the academic and personal growth of students.
- Oversee the organization of school events, trips, and activities that enrich the student experience.
- Monitor and report on student progress and behavior, working closely with parents and carers.
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning, contributing to the academic success of students.
- Support the wider life of the school through involvement in extra-curricular and community initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a leadership role within an educational setting.
- Strong background in teaching and pastoral care, ideally in a school environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate students and staff.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
Preferred
- Experience in a similar role, such as Head of Year or Form Tutor.
- Familiarity with the British curriculum and educational standards.
- Experience with co-educational settings.
- Leadership experience in a large school or institution.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
