The Opportunity:
As a PE Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the PE Curriculum Team and ensuring the smooth running of sports activities. You will help maintain and prepare sports equipment, assist with PE lessons, and manage administrative tasks. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the physical and personal development of students in a dynamic and supportive school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the PE Curriculum Team by preparing and maintaining sports equipment and kit.
- Assist in the delivery of safe and effective PE lessons in the absence of PE teachers.
- Ensure the efficient use and care of all sports facilities and equipment.
- Complete administrative tasks related to PE and sports programs.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sport & PE CTL to ensure all PE activities run smoothly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized sports environment.
- Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a similar role within a school or sports setting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work during term time and on inset days.
Preferred
- Previous experience in teaching or supporting PE lessons.
- Knowledge of sports equipment and maintenance.
- Experience with administrative tasks and record-keeping.
- Understanding of school policies and procedures.
- Experience working with young people in a school environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £22,781 to £24,281 (pro rata).
- Full-time, permanent position with 37 hours per week during term time.
