The Opportunity:
As an Attendance Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring students attend school regularly and achieve their full potential. This is a key role in student support, requiring strong communication and organisational skills. You will work closely with students, parents, and staff to improve attendance and punctuality across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and record student attendance data accurately and systematically.
- Analyse attendance trends and identify patterns requiring intervention.
- Support and implement strategies to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence.
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff to address attendance concerns.
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality in all interactions.
- Provide regular reports and updates on attendance performance to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistent attendance policies are followed.
- Engage with staff to promote and support attendance procedures and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience in a similar role, ideally within an educational setting.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and data.
- Confidence in building positive relationships with parents, students, and colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience in student support or pastoral care.
- Knowledge of attendance policies and procedures in schools.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting software.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary based on the Cheshire East Council NJC Pay Structure.
- 37 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks per year).
