Summary:

Headteacher - Full Time position available at a leading Prep School in the South West.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Headteacher to lead a thriving Prep School community. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering a forward-thinking five-year Strategic Plan, with a focus on educational excellence, wellbeing, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Prep School.
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision aligned with the school’s mission and values.
  • Foster strong partnerships with parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Enhance the academic, co-curricular, and pastoral provisions for students.
  • Promote and market the school’s strengths to current and prospective families.
  • Support and guide the development of a strong and cohesive Prep School community.
  • Ensure the effective use of resources and facilities to support student learning and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with the wider Methodist and educational community to strengthen the school’s profile.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a school setting, preferably as a Headteacher.
  • Strong track record in educational leadership and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external partners.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering long-term strategic plans.
  • Familiarity with the Methodist educational tradition.
  • Demonstrated success in enhancing student wellbeing and personal development.
  • Experience in managing and supporting a diverse and inclusive school community.
