Teacher of English – Part time / approx 0.6 fte / Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured English and General Studies lessons that cater to the needs of all learners.
  • Use assessment and data effectively to support student progress and tailor teaching to individual needs.
  • Inspire a love of language, literature and learning through creative and innovative teaching methods.
  • Contribute to the pastoral care of students, supporting their academic and personal development.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, educational visits and school events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with parents.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and stay up to date with best practices in education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching English at primary level.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.
  • Ability to plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching General Studies or cross-curricular subjects.
  • Familiarity with using technology in the classroom.
  • Experience with extra-curricular activities or leadership roles.
  • Experience with child protection and safeguarding procedures.
