Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the school’s academic, pastoral, and administrative operations.
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision aligned with the school’s mission and the GDST’s values.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and continuous improvement across the school community.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure the highest standards of teaching, learning, and student well-being.
  • Promote the school’s profile and reputation as a centre of excellence in girls’ education.
  • Support the professional development of teaching and support staff.
  • Oversee the effective use of resources and facilities to enhance the learning experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a senior educational role, preferably as a Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher.
  • Strong track record in driving academic and pastoral improvements.
  • Demonstrable experience in school management and strategic planning.
  • Deep understanding of girls’ education and the GDST’s ethos and values.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a school through periods of change and growth.
  • Knowledge of the independent school sector and its unique challenges and opportunities.
  • Experience with school improvement initiatives and external partnerships.
  • Familiarity with the GDST network and its collaborative approach to education.
