The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History and Geography Teacher to join our team on a part-time basis. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and supportive learning community, while making a meaningful impact on student achievement and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in History and Geography to students across multiple year groups.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student progress and achievement.
- Monitor and assess student performance regularly, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development of the curriculum and school improvement plans.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities.
- Support the school’s mission and values, including promoting inclusivity and celebrating cultural diversity.
- Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation and respect.
- Work flexibly across a 3-day weekly schedule, with the potential for further development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in History and Geography.
- Experience in teaching at the secondary level.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred
- Experience of working in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
- Familiarity with Sikh values and British heritage.
- Experience with curriculum development and cross-subject collaboration.
- Flexibility to support the school’s diverse community and cultural initiatives.
