Key Responsibilities:
- Teach History & Politics to students across all key stages, up to A Level and Oxbridge entrance.
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that foster critical thinking and a passion for the subject.
- Develop and lead extra-curricular activities related to History & Politics.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department’s curriculum and teaching methods.
- Support students in their academic and personal development.
- Stay up to date with current events and developments in History & Politics.
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and school-wide initiatives.
- Contribute to the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree in History and Politics or a closely related field.
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in teaching History & Politics at a secondary level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management and organisational abilities.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching girls or in an independent school setting.
- Experience with Oxbridge entrance preparation.
- Leadership experience within a department or school context.
- Knowledge of current events and the ability to integrate them into teaching.
