The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and qualified German Teacher to join our dynamic department and inspire students from KS3 to A-level. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on young learners and contribute to a thriving German curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach German across KS3 to A-level, using a communicative and engaging approach.
  • Deliver lessons that promote student motivation, enjoyment, and high academic achievement.
  • Support students in developing strong grammatical foundations and communicative competence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver curriculum content, including film and literature studies.
  • Organize and participate in school trips and enrichment activities that enhance language learning.
  • Utilize digital resources and platforms such as OneNote to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Work closely with a German native language assistant to support students at all levels.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching German at KS3 to A-level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in German language, literature, film, and current affairs.
  • Ability to deliver lessons in the target language using a communicative approach.
  • Experience with KS3, KS4, and KS5 curricula and assessment requirements.
  • Commitment to student motivation and academic excellence.

Preferred

  • Experience with Edexcel IGCSE and A-level syllabi.
  • Familiarity with the Stimmt! textbook series and digital teaching tools.
  • Experience in preparing students for Oxbridge applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Experience in organizing and leading school trips.
