The Opportunity:

As Director of Sixth Form, you will provide strategic leadership and drive academic and pastoral success for students at this pivotal stage of their education. This is a senior leadership role with the opportunity to shape an inclusive and academically rigorous Sixth Form, impacting the lives of young women and their communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Sixth Form, ensuring academic excellence and student well-being.
  • Develop and implement policies that support the academic, pastoral, and personal development of students.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to contribute to whole-school strategy and improvement.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, ambition, and academic rigor across the Sixth Form community.
  • Lead and inspire staff and students, promoting a supportive and dynamic learning environment.
  • Ensure the Sixth Form remains aligned with the school’s vision and values.
  • Engage with students, parents, and external stakeholders to build strong relationships and support networks.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Sixth Form, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in senior leadership within a school or educational setting.
  • Strong academic background and a commitment to excellence in education.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams effectively.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a Sixth Form or similar department.
  • Familiarity with independent or high-performing schools.
  • Experience with curriculum development and student progression.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Experience with safeguarding and student welfare policies.
