Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring history lessons that connect to current events and real-world contexts.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that fosters a love of history and supports student progression.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching methods.
  • Support students in developing critical thinking, research, and analytical skills.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Stay up to date with developments in history pedagogy and incorporate innovative teaching strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Experience in teaching History at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s Catholic vision and values.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching history at Key Stage 5.
  • Experience with curriculum development or leadership within a department.
  • Familiarity with the Ebacc curriculum and its delivery.
  • Experience in extracurricular or pastoral roles within a school setting.
