The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and experienced Maths Teacher (Fixed Term) to join its Mathematics Department on a fixed-term maternity cover basis. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching from Year 7 to A Level and preparing students for Oxbridge applications. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and inspiring learning environment while supporting the school’s commitment to academic and co-curricular excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Maths lessons to students from Year 7 to A Level.
  • Prepare and guide students for Oxbridge applications and entrance exams.
  • Contribute to the co-curricular programme, including sporting, artistic, and cultural activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain the school’s high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Support the development of students’ academic and personal growth.
  • Participate in professional development and mentoring opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress.
  • Engage in school events and contribute to the overall ethos of the institution.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience teaching Mathematics from Year 7 to A Level.
  • Proven ability to prepare and guide students for Oxbridge applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to co-curricular involvement.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile in supporting students both academically and personally.

Preferred

  • Experience in the independent sector or equivalent.
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Leadership experience or involvement in extra-curricular activities.
  • Familiarity with the RGS’s academic and co-curricular ethos.
