The Opportunity:

A Part-Time Chemistry Teacher is needed to join a successful science department and teach GCSE and A-level Chemistry classes. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-performing department in a dynamic and inclusive school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach GCSE and A-level Chemistry classes to a range of students.
  • Contribute to the development of the science department and its curriculum.
  • Support the pastoral and co-curricular life of the school.
  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that foster student achievement and enthusiasm for chemistry.
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning, and professional development activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance the learning experience for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Chemistry education.
  • Experience teaching GCSE and A-level Chemistry.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Mathematics in addition to Chemistry.
  • Experience working in a co-educational setting.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology in the classroom.
