Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality A-level Geography lessons using innovative and engaging teaching methods.
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans that align with the curriculum and student needs.
  • Support students in achieving their academic goals through personalized guidance and feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and best practices in Geography teaching.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Geography curriculum.
  • Provide pastoral support to students where appropriate and in line with the school’s values.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and subject knowledge.
  • Encourage student participation and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Geography or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching A-level Geography or equivalent qualifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to academic excellence and student achievement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with newly qualified teachers or ECTs.
  • Familiarity with sixth form college environments.
  • Experience in developing and delivering enrichment activities.
  • Knowledge of current issues and developments in Geography.
