The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and qualified History Teacher to join a thriving department for a temporary period from April to July 2026. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and well-resourced History faculty. The successful candidate will support teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, or focus on a specific area, depending on their expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons to students from Year 7 to A-Level.
  • Support the development of engaging and challenging curricula aligned with the school’s academic standards.
  • Contribute to the pastoral and extra-curricular life of the school.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the learning experience for all students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and planning sessions.
  • Monitor and assess student progress effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records and report regularly on student performance.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching History at Key Stages 3 and 4, or A-Level.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting with a strong academic culture.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience in pastoral care or extra-curricular activities.
  • A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.
