The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Cover Teacher to support students across a range of subjects during term time. This role offers flexibility with core hours and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a school that values both academic excellence and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in a variety of subjects, adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, fostering positive relationships with students.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching that is engaging and accessible to all learners.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment.
  • Prepare and deliver lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Supervise students during break times and other non-teaching periods as required.
  • Provide feedback to students and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to the school’s ongoing improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge and experience.
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to work with students of all abilities and backgrounds.
  • Experience in delivering lessons to a range of age groups (11-18).
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a comprehensive or Church school setting.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiation.
  • Flexibility to work across different subjects and year groups.
