The Opportunity:

A Modern Foreign Languages Teacher is required on a full-time, temporary basis to cover maternity leave from September 2026. The role involves teaching French to Key Stage 5 and Spanish to Key Stage 3. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking faculty dedicated to student achievement and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach French to Key Stage 5 and Spanish to Key Stage 3 with a focus on student achievement
  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that promote creativity and critical thinking
  • Support students across the ability and age range from Year 7 to Year 13
  • Contribute to the development of the World Languages Faculty and its extra-curricular programme
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and enhance the school’s high standards of teaching and learning
  • Participate in the school’s comprehensive induction and professional development programme
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student well-being and academic success
  • Stay up to date with current developments in language teaching and pedagogy

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Modern Foreign Languages
  • Ability to teach French to Key Stage 5 and Spanish to Key Stage 3
  • Strong understanding of effective pedagogy and assessment strategies
  • Commitment to raising student achievement at all levels
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working within a team and contributing to a collaborative learning culture

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching in a school with a strong emphasis on extra-curricular and cultural activities
  • Experience with language exchanges or international cultural visits
  • Experience with supporting students with diverse learning needs
  • Leadership experience or interest in taking on leadership roles within the faculty
