The Opportunity:

As a History Teacher - Upper Primary, you will play a key role in shaping students' understanding of world history and global perspectives. You will lead engaging lessons that connect history with other subjects, fostering a collaborative and intellectually rigorous learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, subject-specific lessons in world history for Upper Primary students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate history with other subjects such as music and art.
  • Foster meaningful relationships with students to support their academic and personal growth.
  • Guide students in developing critical thinking, personal responsibility, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching techniques and subject knowledge.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative school community and support student achievement.
  • Ensure individual student understanding through a co-teaching approach with Learning Enhancement Teachers.
  • Stay informed on the latest educational techniques and best practices in history education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in History or a related subject area.
  • At least two years of experience as a lead teacher in a classroom setting.
  • Commitment to academic rigor and student achievement.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based, co-teaching environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching in an international or bilingual school setting.
  • Background in early childhood or elementary education.
  • Experience with curriculum development and lesson planning.
  • Familiarity with global history and cultural perspectives.
  • Proficiency in teaching history through interdisciplinary methods.
