The Opportunity:

As an IB Economics Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping young minds and inspiring students to become critical thinkers and global leaders. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging IB Economics lessons to Grades 9 and 10, while contributing to the development of a thriving Economics department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective IB Economics lessons tailored to a diverse, multicultural student body.
  • Integrate global perspectives and innovative teaching methods into the curriculum.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students, supporting both academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement intervention strategies for underperforming students.
  • Utilize technology and innovative teaching resources to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and committees.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices.
  • Build partnerships with local universities and businesses to inspire and support student aspirations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics or a closely related field.
  • Recognized teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching the IB Economics curriculum.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • High proficiency in English.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Business Management or another subject.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive classroom environment that respects diversity and encourages a love for learning.
