The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, helping them achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and the Head of Inclusion/SENCO to create a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the named student(s) in lessons, providing individualized assistance based on their Individual Education Plan (IEP) and pupil passport targets.
  • Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and colleagues to share progress, concerns, and positive feedback about the student’s development.
  • Maintain detailed records, including IEPs, reports, and minutes, ensuring all documentation is up to date and accurate.
  • Assist in monitoring and supporting the student’s emotional, social, and physical well-being.
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.
  • Accompany students to extracurricular activities and support them during these events.
  • Contribute to the overall learning environment by offering flexible support across the school as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Previous teaching or teaching assistant experience.
  • SEND qualification.
  • Strong written and spoken English skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with empathy and confidentiality.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Background in child development or related fields.
  • Experience in a British curriculum school setting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
