The Opportunity:
As a Lunchtime Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Nursery Team and ensuring a positive, engaging experience for young children. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early years care and is looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and inspiring setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Nursery Team in managing and supervising children during lunchtimes.
- Ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children aged 6 months to 4 years.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children to foster positive relationships.
- Assist with meal times, including serving food and encouraging good eating habits.
- Promote a warm and inclusive atmosphere that supports the school’s ethos of learning and development.
- Collaborate with the Nursery Manager to ensure smooth operations and consistency in care.
- Adapt to changing needs and maintain a flexible, well-organised approach to daily tasks.
- Contribute to the overall development and well-being of children through positive interaction and encouragement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience working with children aged 6 months to 4 years.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and manage a busy environment.
- Well-organised and reliable with a positive attitude.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience within a school or nursery setting.
- Knowledge of early years education and child development.
- Confidence in dealing with parents and colleagues.
- A warm, welcoming personality with a sense of humour and enthusiasm.
